Job Summary
Senior Technical Services Engineer for MongoDB based in Montreal with a hybrid work model. You will advise customers on strategies for using MongoDB data platform, translate technical concepts into plain language, troubleshoot application problems, and advocate for user needs. As a technical expert in search, you’ll advise field teams on Atlas Search and Atlas Vector Search, help with technical enablement, and support customers’ deployments in Atlas, including performance tuning and benchmarking across distributed systems. Responsibilities include building standard troubleshooting methodologies, creating knowledge-base assets, testing new features, identifying process improvements, and mentoring junior engineers. Requirements include 5+ years of relevant experience, 3+ years of search experience (Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr), strong Linux/Networking/Diagnostics fundamentals, experience with RDBMSs (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL), and excellent communication skills. Degree: B.Tech/B.S. or equivalent work experience; certifications and exposure to SaaS, Generative AI, and Atlas products are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of search expertise (Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr)
- 5+ years of experience with administering RDBMSs such as Oracle, Postgres, MySQL
- Experience with Database Performance tuning and benchmarking
- Strong diagnostic/troubleshooting aptitude
- Solid fundamentals in Linux, Networking, and Diagnostics
- Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help people
- Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time
- B.Tech / B.S. or equivalent work experience
