Job Summary
Senior Technical Services Engineer for MongoDB with Atlas/Search expertise based in Toronto for a hybrid work model. Provide specialized support for Atlas Search and Vector Search, advise customers on best practices, troubleshoot complex issues across MongoDB data platforms, and contribute to internal tooling and knowledge resources. Responsibilities include resolving production problems, documenting solutions, building standard troubleshooting methodologies, collaborating with product teams, coaching junior engineers, and enabling customers to leverage Atlas and related tools. Required 5+ years in technical roles, 3+ years in search technologies, strong RDBMS administration experience, performance tuning, Linux/Networking fundamentals, and excellent communication; degree or equivalent work experience accepted.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of search expertise (Elasticsearch/ELK, Lucene, Solr or similar)
- 5+ years of experience administering RDBMSs (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
- Experience with Database Performance tuning and benchmarking
- Solid fundamentals in Linux, Networking, and Diagnostics
- Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help people
- Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time
- A B.Tech / B.S. or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Algolia, Lucidworks, Pinecone, Milvus, or similar (nice to have)
- Certifications - MongoDB, RHCE, Cloud Provider Certifications (nice to have)
- Previous SaaS Support Experience (nice to have)
- Experience creating Generative AI applications, familiarity with LLMs, Vector Stores, and the latest GenAI paradigms (nice to have)
