Job Summary
Own the product backlog for assigned data products, partnering with marketing, operations, sales, and member services to translate business goals into actionable user stories and technical requirements. Design conceptual data models that turn business questions into structured views of MDVIP's data assets, then collaborate with engineers to drive physical implementation. Demonstrate mastery of data by personally querying and analyzing datasets using SQL and Python to prioritize the backlog, measure ROI, and produce reporting that connects roadmap delivery to measurable business outcomes. Facilitate agile ceremonies including scrum, backlog refinement, and sprint planning to maintain alignment across teams. Build wireframes and mockups for dashboards using BI tools, while applying AI tools to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and testing. Drive AI-based data self-service capabilities to empower business users and validate solutions through quality assurance and user acceptance testing. Ensure all products meet healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience in product ownership, business analysis, or technical product management, preferably supporting analytics or data products
- Demonstrated hands-on data skills (strong SQL and Python, analytics tooling, and experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks) and experience designing conceptual and logical data models
- Ability to act as the liaison between business and engineering, own a product backlog, and facilitate agile ceremonies (scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning)
- experience building wireframes and dashboards with BI/data-visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Practical experience applying AI/LLM tools in a product or analytics context
- Apply working knowledge of the healthcare industry to translate problems, needs, and opportunities into well-formed user stories
- ensuring all assigned products meet healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and other relevant compliance standards
