Job Summary
Own PCB procurement end-to-end, translating engineering needs into supplier-ready data by reviewing BOMs, Gerbers, and stackups to ensure contract manufacturers have complete information. Manage relationships with CMs, negotiating costs and lead times while monitoring material availability and mitigating supply risks through competitive RFQs and alternate sourcing. Coordinate production ramp-up, manage ECO impacts, and ensure quality compliance by addressing nonconformances and tracking supplier performance against IPC standards. Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Technical background in electronics or PCBs
- Ability to read schematics, BOMs, and Gerber/ODB++ files
- Familiarity with PCB stackups, materials, finishes, and manufacturing constraints
- Experience in electronics/PCB procurement or supply chain
- Experience working directly with PCB fabs and/or PCB assembly contract manufacturers
- Comfortable working with engineers
- Ability to discuss layer counts, impedance, controlled tolerances, and DFM/DFT topics
- Ability to translate technical topics into supplier requirements
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Ability to compare quotes, build cost breakdowns, negotiate pricing and MOQs, and structure win–win agreements
- Data-driven and detail-oriented
- Ability to spot inconsistencies in BOMs/specs
- Ability to track multiple orders in parallel
- Ability to use data (lead times, yields, costs) to drive decisions
- Experience with Netsuit ERP/MRP systems
- Experience with common engineering tools (e.g. Altium/KiCad/Cadence exports, Excel/Sheets for analysis, ticketing/project tools for tracking)
- Clear written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to summarize complex situations into actionable updates
- Ability to communicate in English and German
- Proactive mindset with ownership of issues
- Ability to push to resolution when schedules and builds are at risk
- Familiarity with PLM and configuration management (ECR/ECO)
- Familiarity with supplier qualification
- Familiarity with FAI (AS9102)
- Familiarity with quality documentation
- Ability to lead cross-functional reviews
- Ability to drive decisions in a fast-moving environment
