Job Summary
Research, design, and develop J2EE applications while coordinating and monitoring the software development lifecycle across multiple platforms. Consult with technical staff and customers to evaluate system integration, operational requirements, and feasibility within time and cost constraints. Direct technical design procedures, programming, testing, and documentation, then conduct code reviews and troubleshoot software issues. Coach and mentor project team members and direct reports, leading offshore teams and collaborating with functional architecture and quality assurance groups. Serve as the designated developer for two or more clients, manage project estimates and scheduling, and maintain configuration management for customizations. Travel up to 25% of the time to accommodate client needs and offshore collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 7-8 years' experience in J2EE software design and/or development
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Development
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering custom software solutions
- Serve as the DD for 2 or more clients
- Basic understanding of retail operations and how packaged software works within this industry
- Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
- Ability to problem-solve, work under pressure, and to effectively manage stress
- Proactive, team player, innovative thinker
- Personable, professional image with internal team members and external clients
- Ability to travel up to 25%

- Experience preferred with the following: RDBS (e.g. Oracle)
- Experience preferred with the following: Experience with OS (Windows/Linux)
- Experience preferred with the following: Experience with OOO Programming concept
- Experience preferred with the following: Intermediate to advance understanding of hardware
- Retail industry and/or Oracle Retail/ MOM knowledge is a plus
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
- Strong understanding or retail operations
- Ability to learn and leverage new frameworks
- Ability to clearly communicate design rationales and build consensus around designs
- Ability to develop innovative approaches to complex design problems
- Strong desire for ownership of assigned tasks
