Job Summary
Senior Technical Lead engineer role in Thales India Engineering Competency Center (Bangalore) focusing on hardware engineering for defense and avionics. Responsible for design and development of reliable, cost-effective digital electronics for defense & avionics applications, including high-speed digital circuits, FPGA and embedded firmware; perform trade studies, simulations, derating analyses, and ensure compliance with DO-160, DO-254 and MIL-STD standards. Lead test planning, board-level testing, integration and validation, component obsolescence management, and root-cause analysis. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, PCB layout, systems engineering, suppliers) and apply DFMEA/DFT/DFM tools throughout the development lifecycle. Proficiency with VHDL, timing analysis, and electronic design tools (Cadence, Allegro, ANSYS, PSPICE/LTSPICE) is required; post-graduate qualifications are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent
- 8 to 16 years of relevant experience
- Strong experience in electronic design and development from requirements to detailed design
- Hands-on experience in hardware design, development and testing of high-speed digital electronic circuits (FPGA, microprocessors, microcontrollers)
- Experience in test procedures, validation testing, and development of test plans
- Knowledge of design and simulation tools (Cadence, Allegro, ANSYS, PSPICE/LTSPICE)
- Understanding of MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254 constraints
- DFMEA, DFT, DFM knowledge
- Team collaboration across disciplines
- Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Conceptual to detailed design lifecycle experience
