Job Summary
Lead complex construction documentation and technical detailing, developing sophisticated architectural details and building assemblies while translating design concepts into technically resolved solutions. Review Revit drawing packages, coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, and provide technical guidance across project teams to ensure quality, constructability, and coordination. Support projects through permit, tender, and construction phases while mentoring junior and intermediate technical staff. Develop technical standards, resources, and QA/QC processes to help build the firm's technical department. This award-winning Vancouver studio handles diverse scales from custom residential to major institutional work, offering a hybrid environment with direct collaboration with leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of architectural industry experience
- Senior Architectural Technologist, Technical Architect or similar background
- Exceptional construction documentation and detailing expertise
- Strong portfolio of smaller scale, highly detailed architectural projects
- Experience working within highly design oriented architectural practices
- Significant experience on larger, complex projects
- Advanced Revit skills
- Deep knowledge of building assemblies, envelope systems and constructability
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience
- Knowledge of the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building By-law
- Ability to maintain design intent through technical development
- Strong mentorship and technical leadership capabilities
Desired Qualifications
- Institutional project experience strongly preferred
