Job Summary
Senior Technical Expert in Europe Dietary Risk Assessment based at Jealotts Hill, leading dietary safety inputs for EU regulatory submissions and cross-functional EU teams. Responsibilities include delivering dietary safety inputs to projects, developing cross-functional strategies, leading strategic initiatives within the Europe Human Safety Team, preparing dietary safety sections of EU plant protection product submissions and renewals, collaborating with toxicology and risk assessment teams, guiding product development and registrations, representing Syngenta in regulatory forums (EFSA, CLE, authorities), and staying current with EU regulations and emerging issues. Requires a scientific degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) with substantial experience in dietary safety, strong writing and data interpretation skills, leadership of cross-functional teams, and familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks for crop protection products. The role is based in Bracknell, UK, with hybrid work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- BSc, MSc/Ph.D. or equivalent in a scientific discipline relevant to dietary safety
- minimum of 6 years of experience in consumer safety, preferably in the agrochemical industry
- Extensive knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks for plant protection products
- Proven track record in managing complex dietary safety projects and regulatory submissions
- Strong scientific writing and data interpretation skills
- Experience in risk assessment and safety evaluation of chemical substances
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams and mentoring junior scientists
- Ability to utilise and deploy digital skills; active participation in professional societies preferred
