Job Summary
Senior Technical Documentation Writer/Specialist II drafts and maintains technical manuals, procedures, specifications, service bulletins, training materials, and reports to meet customer requirements; troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment; researches and reuses existing data and illustrations; coordinates technical content across final products; archives and organizes technical data; supports onboarding and training of team members; ensures compliance with customer agreements and safety protocols; requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines; candidate should have DoD documentation experience and automotive/military equipment familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree in a technical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience
- 2–4 years of experience writing complex technical documents
- Strong troubleshooting experience on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OBD II, CAT ET, Allison DOC, Bendix Diagnostic, Dearborn, WABCO Toolbox, or other OEM tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and able to interpret engineering drawings and data
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
