Job Summary
Lead the technical vision for mine waste dump and stockpile engineering, driving innovation in design, operations, monitoring, and closure planning for mine waste facilities. Mentor emerging engineers and strengthen relationships with major mining clients. Represent WSP as a thought leader and contribute to technical publications. The role requires extensive experience in diverse mining environments and a recognized engineering designation.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in mine waste dump and stockpile engineering across diverse terrains and project scales
- Deep understanding of Canadian mining operations, particularly in BC, Alberta, the Prairies, and Northern/Northern Indigenous contexts
Desired Qualifications
- Professional engineering designation (P.Eng. or equivalent) with eligibility for registration in applicable provinces
- Recognized leadership in technical forums, working groups, conferences, or industry committees
- Strong network within the Canadian mining sector
- A passion for innovation, mentorship, and elevating mine waste practice standards
