Job Summary
Senior Technical Curriculum Developer to build and maintain hands-on Cloudera lab environments for technical courses covering Cloudera Data Platform, ML/AI, and related technologies. Responsibilities include provisioning ML/AI, Data Engineering and Data Lake House environments for class delivery (classroom, live remote, on-demand), supporting environment access and performance, designing efficient environment build/config strategies, automating provisioning processes, creating step-by-step course development instructions, developing reference architectures for on-premises and cloud deployments, troubleshooting Cloudera components in exercise development (ML/AI, K8), authoring technical documentation and curriculum content (lectures, field guides, knowledge-base, certification content), contributing to certification questions, recording on-demand training content, and collaborating with the Educational Services team to ensure customer success. Desired skills include Kubernetes and AWS cloud certifications, experience with AI tooling for labs, scripting and automation, DevOps practices, security (LDAP/TLS/Kerberos), data governance and metadata, and strong communication in a distributed team. You may also have LDAP/HTTP/Apache/DNS/NFS admin knowledge, Kafka/Spark experience, and proficiency in Java ecosystem tools for debugging and monitoring, with a remote-friendly environment.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years IT experience
- 2+ years production experience with Cloudera Base on premises, Cloudera Data Services on premises, or Cloudera on Cloud
- Hands-on experience developing, testing, and implementing Cloudera products from Edge to AI in data center and public cloud environments
- Kubernetes MUST have Kubernetes and/or AWS cloud certification
- Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, or OpenAI to develop labs and curriculum
- English fluency for communication with internal teams and customers
- Experience in systems administration or DevOps with one or more open-source OS
- Experience with major cloud providers to build and manage compute environments and maintain storage
- Experience implementing operational best practices (alerting, monitoring, metadata management)
- Strong understanding of enterprise security practices (LDAP, TLS, Kerberos)
- Experience using configuration management tools (Git, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform)
- Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Ability to work with curriculum content development team to define operational requirements
- Experience with data governance, data lineage, metadata practices
- Familiarity with third-party environment hosting solutions
- Remote, distributed team collaboration
