Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day recovery of outstanding receivables by performing outbound collection calls, email follow-ups, and sending dunning letters on assigned aged accounts. Negotiate payment arrangements within approval authority, resolve billing disputes and short pays, and escalate complex accounts to management with clear recommendations. Investigate discrepancies, coordinate with cross-functional teams for resolution, and document all activity within company systems. Review aging reports daily to prioritize activity, provide status updates on portfolio performance, and support month-end close activities including account reconciliation. Maintain accurate account histories and organized files in accordance with retention policies. This full-time, on-site role supports company cash flow goals by reducing delinquency and maintaining professional relationships with customers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of B2B collections experience
Desired Qualifications
- associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- construction industry or dealership experience
- Familiarity with lien rights, preliminary notices, joint checks, and bond claims
- Working knowledge of Sage, Nexus, Laserfiche, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of accounts and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in account documentation
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
