Job Summary
Senior Technical Artist responsible for pipeline development and artist support, serving as a bridge between creative teams and the Unreal Engine pipeline. Focus on ensuring high-quality art content and features are integrated into the engine while maintaining the project’s artistic vision and respecting technical constraints. Responsibilities include creating 3D art with generalists for the engine, supporting artists with the 3D art pipeline and engine tools, optimizing asset performance, reviewing workflows for tool improvements, developing Unreal Engine art pipeline tools, troubleshooting complex issues in the asset pipeline, collaborating with artists and QA to diagnose production challenges, and maintaining accessible documentation for artists and tech teams. Requires strong Unreal Engine Blueprints expertise, tooling experience, C++/Python knowledge, USD familiarization, rigging knowledge, shading and rendering pipeline familiarity, proficiency in Maya/Blender, experience with premium brands or automotive production, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Fluency in English and a proactive, collaborative mindset are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Unreal Engine Blueprints and proven experience developing tools within the engine
- Experience building configurators, automation tools, or similar systems
- Programming knowledge (C++ and/or Python)
- Experience with USD (Universal Scene Description) and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge of rigging (especially Control Rig), shading, materials, and rendering pipelines (both real-time and offline)
- Proficiency in additional 3D software (e.g., Maya, Blender)
- Experience working with premium brands, high-end productions, or within the automotive industry
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
- Quick learner with a willingness to share knowledge, a self-motivated drive, and strong attention to detail
- Naturally curious and proactive mindset
