Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of the tax function, including compliance, reporting, planning, and advisory services for corporate, partnership, and individual entities. Lead and mentor a high-performing team of tax professionals, manage performance, and serve as a final reviewer for complex federal, state, and international tax filings. Develop advanced tax strategies to minimize liabilities, lead audits and controversies with taxing authorities, and identify new business opportunities through client presentations. Provide high-level advisory on complex transactions and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate tax provision reporting under ASC 740. This role offers a defined path toward Principal within Archer Lewis, a national firm formed in 2024 that blends local expertise with national capabilities to serve 150,000+ businesses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- 7–10+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
- Demonstrated expertise in business tax and accounting across multiple entity types, including S corporations, partnerships, and C corporations
- Deep and current knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Proficiency with enterprise-level tax technologies such as Thompson Reuters, UltraTax, and advanced data analysis tools
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives
- Strong business judgment with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience managing profitable engagements or departmental operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to senior leaders and high-value clients, while building strong internal and external relationships
- You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future

- Master's degree in taxation (MTax) or related field
- Prior experience in public accounting or within the tax function of a multinational organization
