Job Summary
Manage joint ventures in Oil & Gas, support portfolio company activities, and handle transaction support while reviewing returns and conducting ad hoc analysis. Forecast taxable income and tax holdbacks on distributions, coordinate outsourced tax compliance, and prepare partnership returns, K-1 packages, and corporate earnings calculations. Process quarterly estimates, extensions, and payments, compile fund statistical analysis, maintain tax dashboards, and respond to investor tax queries and due diligence questionnaires. Requires three years of Big 4 or Oil & Gas tax experience with knowledge of depletion, recapture, and IDCs. Required Qualifications
- Three or more years of Big 4 public accounting tax experience
- Oil & Gas industry experience
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas-specific tax issues at the operating company level including depletion, recapture and IDCs
- Microsoft Excel with exposure to pivot tables and working with large data sets
- Demonstrated willingness to adopt and leverage AI tools
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with partnership taxation and investment fund structures, particularly joint venture arrangements
- Experience navigating the complexities of multi-entity investment vehicles
- Experience working within an asset manager, private equity firm, or investment platform with exposure to energy-focused investments and joint venture structures
- Strong understanding of partnership tax concepts
- Exceptional analytical skills
