Job Summary
Review client tax situations with greater independence, ensuring accuracy against IRS regulations and H&R Block standards. Leverage advanced technology to prepare returns while delivering personalized advice and identifying tax savings opportunities. Translate complex information into clarity for clients, recommending relevant products and providing forward-looking financial guidance. Partner with Client Care Specialists to gather information and build lasting relationships through a client-first approach. Work 15–35 hours per week with availability for evenings and weekends during peak tax season. Complete the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment and meet all continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
- 1 year of experience as an H&R Block Tax Associate, including preparing individual tax returns
- Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
- Strong communication skills, including explaining tax information clearly and asking questions to understand client needs
- Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
- Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
- Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on client needs
- Ability to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
