Job Summary

Meet with returning and new clients to gather information, understand their tax situation, and prepare complete, accurate returns. Apply tax knowledge and client service skills to handle a broader range of client needs with greater independence. Explain tax information clearly, answer client questions, and provide recommendations while identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products. Use problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address unique situations, leveraging available resources and guidance when needed. Build lasting client relationships through teamwork and a client-first approach. Complete the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment and maintain continuing education to meet IRS and state requirements. Work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods, including evenings and weekends. Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
  • 1 year of experience as an H&R Block Tax Associate, including preparing individual tax returns
  • Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining tax information clearly and asking questions to understand client needs
  • Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
  • Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
  • High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
  • Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on client needs
  • Ability to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
