Job Summary
Review client tax situations with greater independence, leveraging advanced technology to prepare returns while ensuring accuracy and delivering personalized advice. Translate complex tax information into clear recommendations, identifying savings opportunities and guiding clients on forward-looking financial strategies. Own the accuracy of every return by following IRS regulations, escalating complex notices or audit inquiries as appropriate, and building lasting relationships through a client-first approach. Complete the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment and maintain continuing education to meet all IRS and state requirements. Work in-person 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak tax season and evenings/weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
- 1 year of experience as an H&R Block Tax Associate, including preparing individual tax returns
- Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
- Strong communication skills, including explaining tax information clearly and asking questions to understand client needs
- Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
- Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent
- Ability to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season

- Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
