Job Summary
Prepare and review complex tax returns and workpapers for agricultural and agribusiness clients, applying advanced technical knowledge to ensure compliance. Analyze client information, research tax issues, and develop solutions that support planning strategies while maintaining thorough documentation and preparing supporting reports. Communicate directly with clients and tax authorities to provide guidance, address inquiries, and maintain strong professional relationships. Collaborate with team members across engagements, contributing to workflow efficiencies while supporting and reviewing the work of junior associates and interns. Continue developing technical expertise through ongoing learning, training, and staying current with evolving tax laws and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field
- CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA
- 3 + years of experience in public accounting or a related field, with a focus on tax services
- Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Experience with UltraTax
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Adaptability and a commitment to flexibility in a constantly changing professional environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise and impactful feedback to clients and team members
