Job Summary
Senior Systems Support Engineer responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, stability and availability of complex application systems. Roles include incident management and incident response, monitoring and tooling to generate reports and drive corrective actions, debugging complex systems to resolve business-impacting issues, applying best practices to improve stability and availability, delivering high-quality software through continuous delivery, leveraging logging for alerting and root-cause analysis, deploying and running software with DevOps practices, mentoring less experienced peers, and applying the latest technology thinking from Thoughtworks to solve client problems. The role requires experience with Java, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), scripting (Python/PowerShell), Kafka, SAP ecosystem integrations, modern architectures (monolithic, N-tier, microservices, serverless), SQL databases, Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines), Datadog, Agile methods, strong English communication, and a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Java
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
- Kafka experience
- High-level understanding of SAP ecosystem integrations
- High-level understanding of architectures (monolithic, N-tier, layered, microservices, serverless)
- Strong debugging and triaging skills
- SQL databases (MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Docker containers
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines)
- Datadog monitoring and alerting
- Ability to ensure high-quality, well-tested deliverables
- Agile methods (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Advanced English proficiency
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to be part of rotation and 24x7 on-call team
- Mentorship of junior consultants
- Advocacy for cloud best practices and security best practices
