Job Summary
Join General Motors as a Senior Systems Specialist, leading systems engineering efforts for core autonomous vehicle platform capabilities at the Markham Elevation Center. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop technical specifications, and influence system designs for reliability and performance in safety-critical environments.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or relevant work experience
- Experience in one or more platform domains, such as embedded/real-time operating systems, distributed middleware and orchestration/runtime, time synchronization and sensor/data pipelines, software update systems, system health, or safety/security mechanisms at the platform layer
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded systems, or sensor integration
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety standards
- Ability to read/understand source code (C/C++)
- Experience working with Ethernet-based automotive networks (e.g., Automotive Ethernet, TSN)
- Prior experience at a leading AV company or tier 1 automotive supplier
