Job Summary
Conduct hands-on integration, testing, and troubleshooting of next-generation DNA sequencing systems, evaluating novel technologies across surface sciences, fluidics, software, mechanics, and chemistry. Design, execute, and document sequencing experiments including data analysis while tracking and communicating development issues. Partner with cross-functional teams in R&D, manufacturing, and quality to support system-level integration and troubleshooting of consumables and hardware. Maintain test procedures and quality control documentation, presenting technical findings to engineering and scientific stakeholders. Requires postgraduate qualification in Molecular Sciences or Physics, extensive hands-on experience with DNA/RNA sequencing, and proficiency in Linux environments.
Required Qualifications
- postgraduate qualification in Molecular Sciences, Physics or a related discipline
- extensive hands-on experience working with DNA/RNA sequencing technologies
- proven track record of troubleshooting complex systems at the system level, particularly within prototype or early-stage development environments where multiple technologies intersect
- comfort working with instrumentation, experimental design and data analysis
- enjoy uncovering root causes through structured investigation and problem solving
- Experience working in Linux environments for system operation and diagnosis
- strong analytical thinking
- meticulous attention to detail
- excellent communication skills
- ability to partner effectively across engineering, scientific, manufacturing and quality teams
- Must be available for Onsite work in Cambridge
