Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer at Wabtec Mining will lead cross-functional teams through concept development and execution of key mining projects, interact directly with customers during product definition, and partner with stakeholders to ensure successful execution from requirements development through production launch. Responsibilities include defining overall system requirements, recommending design approaches to meet customer expectations, providing technical guidance throughout the NPI process, delivering leadership to guide cross-functional team execution, documenting technical data, preparing invention disclosures and patents, and facilitating collaboration between engineering, commercial supply chain, and customers. Moderate travel is required. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Physics/Mathematics/Computer Science, 10+ years of engineering experience in relevant industries, and fluency in English and Japanese.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- At least 10 years of experience in an engineering position within the Marine, Stationary, Mining, Locomotive, Oil & Gas or related heavy equipment industry
- Engineering experience in: Control & system validation for motor, alternator, and power electronic systems; Electromechanical system testing; System design and circuit analysis; Engineering Leadership; Project management; Mining or Heavy Industry application experience
- Fluent in English and Japanese
