Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer, Vehicle Security at Waymo. Hybrid work schedule in Mountain View, CA. Develop and own comprehensive vehicle security requirements aligned with the high-level vehicle platform security strategy; define and implement the vehicle network and module security architecture with OEMs and adjacent Systems Engineers; define and manage security features (e.g., Digital Key and SOTA); create detailed security requirements for Waymo software interfaces to ensure secure communication with the vehicle platform; develop V&V plans, execute tests, analyze results, and resolve defects across prototype phases; oversee delivery timing of feature sets and software updates to the vehicle prototype fleet; travel 6-8 times/year. Requires Bachelor's degree in relevant field, deep knowledge of vehicle security technologies (Autosar SecOC, ISO14229-1 UDS, HSMs), strong network/embedded systems understanding (CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, DBCs), ability to negotiate targets/requirements with OEMs, and 5+ years automotive security experience. Senior-level role with hybrid in Mountain View, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or similar
- A thorough understanding of vehicle communications and module security technology (Autosar SecOC, Security relevant services in ISO14229-1 UDS, HSMs, etc)
- A deep knowledge of vehicle communication networks and protocols (Physical and Application layer, e.g. CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, DBCs, etc) and an understanding of the embedded systems that control via these networks
- The ability to create & negotiate targets and requirements with OEMs and Waymo adjacencies and create and execute effective DVPs as part of the role
- We prefer: Hands-on experience implementing and testing automotive security mechanisms
- Experience with CCC Digital Key implementation
- At least 5 years experience in an automotive security (or similar industry) role delivering software and/or hardware
- Full lifecycle experience launching an automotive security critical system from definition to market
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or similar
