Job Summary
Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for Special Operations Aviation helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts, execution of test procedures, and system integration into complex upgrade programs. Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects while navigating bids and pursuits adhering to Collins Processes. Mentor other engineers within the Platform Systems team and work with military helicopter programs to ensure seamless integration of Collins Aerospace products. Utilize tools such as DOORS, JIRA, PREP, and SVN to manage avionics solutions across cockpit systems. Requires a STEM degree with five years of experience or an advanced degree with three years, plus systems engineering expertise. Onsite in Cedar Rapids with up to 10% travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Person (lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, U.S. national, refugee, or asylee status)
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience
- 9 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree
- Experience within a Systems Engineering role
- Ability to be onsite in Cedar Rapids for test events and test environment updates
- Travel (domestic-US, and possible International) is possible of this position, estimating <10% of the year
Desired Qualifications
- Collins Aerospace's Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) experience
- Experience with DARs
- Experience doing bids & pursuit
- Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA and/or Microsoft Office Suite
