Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Lead development of primary and secondary radar products; perform top-level design for new feature development and change requests; hands-on integration and troubleshooting of digital and RF systems using dedicated test equipment, command line interfaces and computer network analysis tools. Develop MATLAB tools to support performance prediction, system and product verification, and system analysis. Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performance. Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal systems engineering processes. Analyze requirements, assess compliance, perform gap analysis, etc. in order to develop technical, cost, and schedule estimates to support design reviews and proposal activities. Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groups. Coordinate with product development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of risk. Mentor and lead junior engineers within your team and throughout the organization. Domestic and international travel may be required, generally less than 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related discipline
- 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense/military, medical, nuclear, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with technologies applicable to advanced radar systems
- Demonstrated programming and data analysis skills
- Experience with requirements management, system design, and system/subsystem integration
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive relationships within a team
- Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to lead and grow junior engineers
