Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise IT systems across a multi-site manufacturing environment. Hands-on senior role handling Tier 3 incidents, leading infrastructure modernization across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, and delivering end-to-end enterprise initiatives including migrations, upgrades, and integrations. Focus areas include cloud and identity management (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, PIM, Conditional Access), hybrid identity and least-privilege access, Windows endpoints and servers, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), hybrid multi-cloud architectures, Fortinet security, and governance aligned with Zero Trust, GCC High/AWS GovCloud/FedRAMPITAR requirements. The role emphasizes automation, SOP creation, technical guidance, and mentorship across IT and technology teams. Location is hybrid with Rochester, NY site noted; US-wide remote not implied. The compensation range is $80,000-$135,000 base, with annual bonus and long-term incentive potential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years delivering enterprise IT solutions end-to-end
- 7+ years diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues
- 5+ years hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure environments
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 enterprise environments, including upgrade planning and mixed deployments
- Experience handling Windows Server environments up to Server 2022
- Deep experience with Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Defender, and Exchange
- Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and hybrid identity
- Experience designing and supporting hybrid, multi-forest, multi-tenant, and multi-cloud architectures
- Hands-on experience supporting regulated government cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 GCC High, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, and environments aligned to FedRAMP and/or ITAR requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document clearly
- Strong experience in prioritizing leading competing workstreams
- Preferred (if applicable): Fortinet networking and security equipment
- Exposure to OT networking in manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ITIL processes
- Exposure to CAD systems such as SolidWorks
