Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer at PEMCO responsible for delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Responsibilities include managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure, leading small projects with weekly progress reporting, mentoring others, identifying and addressing application performance bottlenecks with developers, participating in the design of information and operations support systems, performing root cause analysis for production issues, liaising with vendors and business users, establishing standards and roadmaps for supported application stacks, writing and maintaining scripts to improve efficiency, installing and maintaining OS and application software, and providing 2nd/3rd level support while ensuring security, backup, and redundancy. Requires strong communication of technical information to non-technical users, a focus on availability, adherence to PEMCO policies and values, and alignment with PEMCO’s mission and culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience supporting Microsoft technology stack in Windows environments
- 5 years experience with server monitoring and alerting platforms
- Knowledge of IT concepts, practices and procedures with breadth of technology solutions
- Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and software management practices
- Relevant IT certifications (ITIL or equivalent)
