Job Summary
Develop new optical metrology technologies and optimize performance of existing systems through experimental design and validation. Interface with cross-functional engineering teams to generate specifications, troubleshoot optical components, and implement improvements. Support on-site installation of first-in-fab tools, conduct initial tool matching, and create training procedures for local engineering teams. Execute plans of action and deliver technical presentations to communicate results. Requires international travel up to 20%.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Engineering or Sciences with a focus on optical physics
- >5 years experience in a semiconductor capital equipment engineering role
- Experience in applications development using spectroscopic ellipsometric tools
- Experience in the integration of precision optical and optomechanical components
- Proficiency in data analysis using various programming/scripting tools (Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Excellent analytical capability for systematic troubleshooting
- Good interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Experience working on prototype systems in a hands-on laboratory setting
- Experience with new product development and support in the semiconductor space
- International travel of up to 20%
