Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate high-fidelity models for complex electro-mechanical systems with a focus on sensors, cameras, and displays. Build and maintain Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations, perform data-driven model parameter identification and validation, and conduct performance analyses and trade-off studies to optimize architecture, components, and control strategies. Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Software, and Test Engineers; communicate modeling concepts and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requires strong modeling foundation, experience with MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape) and Python or C/C++, and a U.S. Person status. Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative field; Ph.D. preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in system modeling, simulation, and analysis with electro-mechanical systems
- Experience developing models for sensors (IMU, Lidar, Radar, Ultrasonic, etc.) or cameras or displays
- Strong foundation in control systems, dynamics, signal processing, and numerical methods
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape), Python (SciPy, NumPy, Pandas), or C/C++
- Experience with model validation against experimental data and statistical analysis
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- U.S. Person status (Citizenship or Green Card)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, Physics, or related field
- Preferred: PhD in a relevant discipline
- Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing platforms (e.g., dSPACE, NI)
- Knowledge of advanced control techniques (adaptive/optimal/robust) and estimation algorithms (Kalman filters, particle filters)
- Experience with machine learning for model identification or data-driven predictions
- Exposure to systems engineering processes and configuration control
