Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer - MedTech role focused on the next generation of surgical robotics. Lead architectural, design, and interface decisions for a complex electro-mechanical medical device, ensuring complete design controls and documentation for the Johnson & Johnson Robotic Surgery System. Define requirements, verification strategies, and risk management for subsystems; guide cross-functional teams through trade-offs balancing customer and business needs with technical feasibility, safety, and schedule risk. Collaborate with internal/external experts on controls development and software requirements/design specifications; help refine systems engineering processes and practices. Requires strong communication, leadership, and ability to translate customer needs into actionable development plans. Travel up to 10% and a hybrid on-site schedule in Cincinnati, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Biomedical) or Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 4 years of related engineering experience
- Proven effectiveness leading and collaborating across organizational boundaries
- Working knowledge of system-level requirements management and risk management tools/processes
- Experience in developing product requirements and associated test methods
- Proven track record in quality management systems and compliant development environments
- Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic and/or international)
- Experience in systems engineering role; preferred experience with surgical devices or regulated industries
- Experience with ISO 14971 risk management is preferred
- Experience with Agile development is preferred
