Senior Systems Engineer - Imaging at Medtronic leads cross-functional imaging system projects across hardware/software domains, optimizing image quality and system performance. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, documenting imaging solutions; leading characterization of image quality at the system level; collaborating with marketing, quality, software, hardware, and test teams to meet product requirements and clinical needs; defining user and business needs, use cases, requirements, and system architecture; planning and executing user evaluations in lab-based surgical environments; identifying and mitigating technical risks and failure modes; providing technical leadership in computer-assisted and robotic-assisted procedures; and ensuring imaging pipelines (detector behavior, acquisition, calibration, reconstruction, image processing, display) meet performance targets. Nice-to-have experience in medical imaging, MATLAB/Linux/C++, AI tool application, systems engineering practices, and end-to-end imaging pipelines. Requires Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or advanced degree with 2+ years; U.S. work authorization sponsorship details apply for Principal level and above, with explicit onsite requirements in multiple Massachusetts locations.
