Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer to plan, design, and build the infrastructure for cloud-based identity and authentication services supporting MFA for web-based applications. Lead efforts to develop scalable, secure, and highly available backend infrastructure leveraging solutions such as AWS Cognito, Okta, and Login.gov, in collaboration with Engineering Lead and incumbent team members. Role emphasizes cloud architecture expertise in identity, security, and distributed systems, with experience in AWS GovCloud, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), and integrating with Active Directory/federated sources; strong communication and ability to work in deadline-driven government projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment
- Project experience planning and building infrastructure for an MFA solution
- Knowledge and management of AWS GovCloud services (Cognito, Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway)
- Project experience with Active Directory and federated sources
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience configuring and hardening infrastructure within AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP authorized environments
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls (AC, IA)
- Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban methodology via Jira
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical government officials
- Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
