Job Summary
Outline, develop, and implement data engineering solutions for web-based applications automating IC data custodian management. Utilize NiFi, Linux environments, and data ontologies to map and model transformation routines for ingestion into corporate repositories. Document data flows supporting routing implementations and manage concurrent IC-provided data sets. Work at the Peraton contractor facility with flexible hours. Requires TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and 20 years of Systems Engineering experience. Salary range $176,000 - $282,000.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance
- Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience (substitutable for bachelor's degree)
- Demonstrated experience supporting Systems Engineering efforts
- Able to implement comprehensive SOA solutions
- Able to conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations over its life cycle through the proper balance of non-functional system performance areas
- Able to ensure effective, periodic review and control of the evolving configuration of a system, both hardware and software components and associated documentation, during the life of the system
- Able to develop system design alternatives that consider life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth
- Able to maintain knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to the system development of interest
- Able to recommend a preferred solution based on selection criteria
- Able to provide technical direction for the full systems engineering life cycle
- Able to fully define interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software
Desired Qualifications
- A working knowledge of NiFi
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment
- Experience interacting with data ontologies (schemas)
- Experience with structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON)
- Database experience (MySQL/NoSQL)
- Analytic query experience with a platform
- Experience working with numerous concurrent IC-provided data sets to identify, map and model data transformation routines supporting ingestion into the customer's corporate repositories
- Ability to document new and existing data flows supporting data routing implementations
- A working knowledge of smart data systems and entitlements
- Experience with JAVA and Splunk
- Experience with current and evolving agency dataflow and reporting solutions
- Experience in developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems
- Experience leading agile development models
- Experience integrating COTS and GOTS products from multiple vendors
- Experience developing and deploying storage within clustered or cloud environments
- Experience planning and integrating secure compliant solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives
