Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer to build, migrate, and support a cloud-based web dashboard handling healthcare EDI transactions; design and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS; integrate with EDI processing pipelines and data services; support an Angular-based frontend; collaborate with C#/.NET and AWS data engineers to define API contracts; write clean, testable code, and participate in unit/integration testing; deploy, monitor, and optimize backend services on AWS; promote Agile practices; utilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration; 8+ years of experience, Bachelor's degree, U.S. Citizenship, and 100% U.S.-based remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS)
- 8+ years of experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
- Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI
- Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components
- Proven ability to build RESTful APIs that transform structured data (XML, JSON)
- Working knowledge of Angular (components, services, API integration)
- Cloud experience (AWS/Azure) including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub and collaboration workflows
- Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest, or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders and cross-functional engineers
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and JIRA
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
- Attention to detail regarding healthcare data fidelity
- Code review capabilities
- U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity
