Job Summary
Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard for healthcare EDI data; build RESTful APIs in Java/NodeJS, integrate with internal APIs and data services, and support an Angular-based frontend. Role involves collaborating with AWS data engineers, applying best software engineering practices within Agile, writing clean and tested code, and ensuring reliable data delivery for clinical users. Requires strong back-end Java/JavaScript expertise, Angular UI experience, healthcare data knowledge (EDI/XML/JSON), cloud (AWS) experience, and U.S. citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong back-end focus (Java and/or NodeJS)
- 8+ years of experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
- Experience with Java and/or NodeJS back-end integration work and Angular front-end UI
- Hands-on Angular experience with API integration and front-end components
- Strong back-end development experience in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS
- Experience with RESTful APIs that transform structured data (XML, JSON)
- Working knowledge of Angular and API integration
- Cloud experience (AWS/Azure) including API Gateway, Lambda, S3
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub
- Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA
- Ability to work independently and in distributed teams
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance for API/web apps
- Security clearance requirements: Public Trust
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience with remote U.S.-based teams
- Front-end development experience
- Familiarity with healthcare payer/PBM systems
- Experience with Docker/ECS/EKS
- C#/.NET back-end service familiarity
- Remote-friendly work arrangement
