Job Summary
Senior Systems Analyst in Future Forward Research at Intuitive Surgical to design and implement controllers/algorithms for novel instrument concepts and visualization schemes on surgical robotics platforms. Responsibilities include developing and validating distributed electro-mechanical systems and dynamic models, designing software algorithms/tools/infrastructure for new products, integrating mechanical/hardware/software components, applying control system design to prototype medical robotic systems, and conducting testing, safety analysis, and performance monitoring throughout development. The role also involves leading early systems engineering, translating requirements, cross-functional collaboration, developing sensor/control schemes to enhance robotic performance, and producing thorough documentation and IP-related communications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Control Systems Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in servo control systems development for robotics or electro-mechanical systems
- Proficiency in Matlab and C/C++
- Experience with Python and JavaScript a plus
- Strong understanding of robot manipulator kinematics, control systems, teleoperation
