Job Summary
Senior Systems Administrator role for a San Diego, CA on-site position responsible for designing, implementing, and ensuring reliability of enterprise server and cloud infrastructure. Lead infrastructure projects from planning through delivery, act as the primary escalation contact for complex outages, mentor junior administrators, and design automation frameworks using PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform. Manage Active Directory/Azure AD Connect, conditional access policies, disaster recovery planning and testing, and participate in security reviews and risk assessments. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), 7–10 years in infrastructure with 3–4 years of technical ownership, and certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional and Azure Solutions Architect Expert. The role requires hands-on experience across Windows and Linux, virtualization (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) at architect level, and IaC tooling; strong focus on automation, documentation, and mentoring. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday in San Diego, CA with competitive salary and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of associate degree plus 7–10 years of progressive infrastructure experience)
- Experience: 7–10 years of systems administration; 3–4 years in technically ownership roles
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification or equivalent
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux administration
- Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V)
- Cloud platforms experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) at architect level
- Active Directory/identity infrastructure management
- Automation tooling (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform)
- Scripting and IaC development
- Documentation and runbook maintenance
