Job Summary
Senior Systems Administrator role on the Infrastructure Operations Team overseeing highly available IT infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining VMware vSphere/ESXi, Linux and Windows Server, automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash, and Go, configuring and securing network services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, Syslog, SNMP, RADIUS), implementing PXE-boot and Kickstart deployment workflows, managing backups and DR, building monitoring and incident-management pipelines, and participating in on-call rotations. The role requires strong scripting, IaC, security hardening, collaboration with engineering and security teams, and the ability to travel for hardware deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in a Senior Systems Administrator or equivalent role
- Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) with advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening
- VMware vSphere/ESXi with host management, VM provisioning, and resource optimization
- Backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies
- Scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, and/or Go
- Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises data centers
- Core network services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, Syslog, SNMP, RADIUS) and IP addressing/routing fundamentals
- PXE-boot and Kickstart environments for automated server deployments
- Monitoring and incident management; on-call support
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Security controls and compliance across managed systems
- Documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and travel to remote sites for hardware installations/maintenance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
