Job Summary
The Senior System Safety Engineer will guide concept development, mission-system analysis, and requirement derivation for complex systems including missile defense and biotechnology. Responsibilities include conducting System Safety Analyses, developing safety work packages, advocating for safety practices, and assessing compliance with System Safety processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in safety analysis methodologies and the application of industry standards, along with strong communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
- 5-10 years' experience in a relevant position for Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years' experience in a relevant position for Master's degree
- Current in-scope Secret security clearance, Top Secret preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency applying System Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA)
- Proficiency with Model-based System Engineering toolkits
- Understanding of Software Safety and JSSSEH
- Experience documenting compliance with safety standards
- Experience integrating vulnerability remediation and incident response
- Experience drafting innovative R&D proposals
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance
