Job Summary
Conduct system safety support for MDA MAPSS Safety contract by delivering data products and serving as on-site safety POC for Flexible Target Family Integration and Production activities. Review contractor safety documentation including Hazard Analysis and Flight Safety Data Packages, then develop Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance charts for major milestone reviews. Co-chair Range Commanders Council meetings and Ground Safety Working Groups while providing on-site oversight for hazardous flight test operations. Submit Interim Hazard Classification Packages and Residual Risk Assessment memos for management approval, and track closure of safety action items and audit findings. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in system safety, a SECRET clearance, and domestic travel under 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in System Safety Engineering
- Bachelors of Science degree
- 15 years of experience in System/Software Safety
- A SECRET level clearance
- Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written
- Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk
- Ability to lift >15 lbs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgement
- Work attire must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk / hazard to the employee or others
- Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.) <10%
Desired Qualifications
- Overall experience in system safety, launch safety for flight test operations and occupational safety, with extensive knowledge in ground safety range requirements
