Job Summary
Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting SIPR and other information systems, managing virtualized environments and resolving technical problems involving hardware integration, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory. Utilize experience with server management tools, encryption, and data backup and restore procedures while installing and configuring software applications for end users. Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and obtain DoDD 8140/8570 certification within six months. Systems operate 24x7, requiring work beyond standard hours, with up to 10% domestic travel. Full-time, 100% onsite position at RTX, an aerospace and defense company delivering solutions to protect national and allied freedoms.
Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with VMware
- Experience with Administration
- Experience with backup and recovery
- Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher
- Experience with Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
- Experience with networking administration, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies
- Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
