Job Summary
Senior System Administrator responsible for administering Pipeline Health’s computer systems to ensure high availability and security of critical applications. Drives capacity planning and long-term system strategy, coordinates with network engineering, business applications, and database administration to implement desktop and server systems, ensures data integrity and regulatory compliance, troubleshoots hardware/software issues, schedules upgrades and hardware changes, and provides leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff. Acts as a liaison between hospital management and IT, upholding AIDET patient communication standards and supporting department operations and communications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of IT system experience
- Healthcare-specific IT experience (minimum five (5) years)
- Strong knowledge of multi-platform systems, virtual environments, and centralized storage
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration
- Proficiency in design, implementation, and maintenance of SD-WAN and hybrid cloud environments
- Experience supporting or integrating with colocation and datacenter environments
- Proficiency in advanced troubleshooting of complete routing and network security controls
- In-depth knowledge of Healthcare IT regulations (HIPAA)
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to junior IT staff
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and security practices
- Experience with system monitoring and performance management
- Ability to participate in capacity planning and long-term strategic goals
- Ability to coordinate with network engineering, business applications, and database administration functions
- Ability to oversee software and hardware upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations
- Experience with data privacy and regulatory requirements
- Ability to act as liaison between hospital management and IT department
- Mentorship and team leadership capabilities
- AIDET-based patient communication practices
- Ability to work in a hospital environment with a focus on uptime and reliability
