Job Summary
Plan, manage, and ensure all survey activities for construction and open pit mining are carried out efficiently per specifications and professional practices. Maintain accurate records of construction plans, mine production layouts, ore reserves, and statutory compliance for the Minerals and Mining Laws of Oman. Supervise safety duties including meetings, audits, Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments, and interventions in accordance with MMC SOPs. Distribute and supervise survey details for open pit benches, roads, and ramps while conducting check surveys to verify subordinate work accuracy. Submit updated mine development plans quarterly and annually to government departments, prepare monthly volume and tonnage performance reports, and use available parameters to determine ore and waste production for reconciliation. Assist with subordinate training and development.
Required Qualifications
- BSc. in Surveying
- Minimum of seven (7) years open pit mine surveying experience
- Experience in managing a survey department
- Knowledge and awareness in HSE
- To use the latest technology like drones and GPS devices
- Advanced computer skills
- Good management and organizational abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Certificates for at least one of the mine design software like Deswik, Datamine, Surpac or Micromine
- Certificate for Autocad
- Having experience as an Expat
