Senior Survey Technician

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-education surveying experience (easements, rights of way, plats, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, property descriptions, GPS surveys)
• Valid state driver’s license
• Experience with both public and private sector work (e.g. state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development)
• Highly familiar with land survey principles, practices, process, methods and techniques
• Good interpersonal, documentation, and computer skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Fundamental understanding of pipeline design surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys
• Strong experience with Trimble Survey Gear (R10-R12i GNSS Receivers)
• Experience with line locating with electronic line locator
• Ability to record information in a legible and accurate manner (Field Notes)
• Professional oral and written communication skills
• Sound self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
• Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from calculations, data collation, and survey results
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• Travel is required up to 90%
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
• This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy
