Job Summary
Senior Survey Technician (Party Chief) responsible for day-to-day supervision of the survey field crew, coordinating with contractors to provide survey services, identifying property line controls, gathering data for surveys, discussing work with clients, performing calculations and maintaining records, ensuring equipment and trucks are properly maintained, addressing performance issues, and communicating with management. Role requires outdoor work, ability to travel overnight within Texas and surrounding states, and ongoing pursuit or attainment of RPLS certification. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and field survey methods, with experience in topographic, stakeout, and easement-related tasks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Party Chief in the land development industry
- Working knowledge of field design for overhead and underground utilities is highly desired
- Knowledge of power line materials is a plus
- Working towards or willingness to obtain RPLS certification
- Experience in conducting easement research at courthouses is highly desired
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred
- Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices
- Ability to perform all aspects of data collected field survey, topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveys
- Knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection; ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies
- Ability to travel overnight to various parts of Texas and surrounding states
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
