Job Summary
Senior Land Survey Manager leads the Survey/Mapping department, oversees multiple project teams, and acts as the Surveyor of Record for the firm. Responsibilities include managing scope, schedule, budget and KPIs; enforcing project management standards; directing high-complexity deliverables (boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic mapping, subdivision maps, legal descriptions, Records of Survey); applying advanced project-management methods; ensuring compliance with laws, standards, and QA/QC procedures; serving as technical escalation point; managing a book of business typically exceeding $1.5M; signing/sealing survey documents; coordinating with clients and partners; providing leadership, mentoring, performance evaluations, and development plans; contributing to business development and marketing; and supporting training in boundary law, mapping standards, and professional practice. Education/Experience includes a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics/Civil Engineering, 15+ years in Land Surveying, California PLS license, staff-management experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Physical requirements include travel to field locations and the ability to work in site environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent years of experience in Land Surveying
- Professional Land Surveyor License (LS) in California
- 15+ years’ relevant experience in Land Surveying
- Experience managing staff
- Experience with Project Management
- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
