Job Summary
Underwrite and negotiate profitable surety business for small to mid-commercial accounts while minimizing risk. Perform thorough financial and technical evaluations of clients, analyze quarterly statements, and manage underwriting workflows within company policy. Maintain positive partnerships with independent agents and brokers to develop the assigned book of business and promote product lines. Assess business continuity arrangements and mentor junior staff as needed. This role requires a minimum of 2.5 years of surety underwriting experience and may involve two days per week in the office if located within 50 miles of a GRS office.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business
- 2.5 years of surety UW experience
- 3 or more years of surety UW experience
- other related experience
- analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks
- comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues
- ability to define and implement necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows
- track record of developing and underwriting profitable Surety business
- Must demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues
- be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows
- Must be prepared to come into the office two days/week
