Job Summary
Senior Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for defining, developing, and executing processes to deliver high-quality composite assemblies and mechanical sub-assemblies for autonomous air vehicle programs. You will partner with design teams to provide DFM feedback and generate product data (drawings, BOMs, part requirements) for supplier quality success. Leverage composites, additive manufacturing, fabrication, special processes, and inspection/measurement knowledge to support the internal design process, manage technical risks, and scale designs for production. Lead supplier quality readiness across product development stages through design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification; ensure alignment to mechanical and sub-assembly requirements. Collaborate with design, product quality, sourcing, and program management to ensure predictable supply and manage deviations. Drive PPAP/PPAP-related activities, PPAP/AS9100/ISO9001 compliance, RCAs, MRBs, and SCARs; audit supplier quality systems; support RCCA and MRB activities; travel up to 50% to supplier sites and manufacturing locations; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or similar technical field
- Experience with producing composite assemblies and manufacturing of mechanical sub-assemblies for aerospace
- Experience in scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype and proof of concept parts to low rate production to high rate production
- Experience performing source inspection at mechanical manufacturing suppliers, aerospace and defense suppliers is a plus
- Experience flowing down Source Control requirements to Suppliers
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements
- AS9100 Lead / Internal Auditor Certification or equivalent is a plus
- Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard
- Ability to ensure suppliers have control plans and inspection processes capable of meeting product requirements
- Experience with driving supplier performance and evaluation
- Experience with SOW, quality clauses, IP, and government regulations such as ITAR
- Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements (MSA, GD&T)
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab) for quality metrics
- Strong ownership mindset to drive projects end-to-end
- Ability to travel up to 50% to suppliers and manufacturing locations
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
- Must be able to work in a highly regulated defense environment
- Experience with supplier audits and RCCA/MRB processes
