Job Summary

Own and manage mechanical fabrication commodities to execute supplier production strategies from new product introduction through full production. Vet supplier capabilities, facilities, and workforce for Approved Supplier List inclusion, then support Supplier Quality Engineers in ensuring adherence to part quality criteria. Bring up new production tooling and lines at supplier sites to validate materials, processes, and tools against performance and demand requirements. Drive process performance reviews, capacity expansion readiness, and production ramp-up while identifying improvements to lower costs, reduce risk, and improve cycle time. Lead root cause task forces with suppliers to close corrective and preventative action loops. Travel at least 60% of the time to embed with elite engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams on the ground.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in supplier quality and industrialization within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with specific category technical expertise, as applicable, mechanical fabrication manufacturing, IPC standards, CAD, GD&T
  • Ability to travel at least 60% of the time
  • Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or metallurgical/materials engineering, or related technical field
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and certifications
  • Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
  • Exposure to working in a fast-pace, start-up environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
